Kristen Stewart showed her love of vintage sneakers with a red Converse set at a Film Independent special screening of her film “The Chronology of Water” in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

Stewart went for a throwback style with a bright red version of a nylon Converse trainer. The set featured a tonal red T-toe design while white accents came in through the laces, a streak at the sole and the classic Star Chevron logo alongside the “All Star” name.

Stewart styled the sneakers with matching poppy red straight-leg pants and a cream jacket with a yellow graphic design. This is the same pair of sneakers the actress and writer-director sported last year at the premiere of “Love Me” at the Sundance Film Festival. On that occasion, the shoes accompanied rolled up blue jeans, a graphic T and a teal jacket.
Stewart once said in a 2012 interview with Allure, back in the days of the “Twilight” franchise, that she has a “fetish” for sneakers. She shared, “The best thing I ever found in a vintage shop, like an old pair of Converse trainers, like lime green Converse trainers. ‘Cause they’re not Chucks, they were old school like ’70s running shoes.”

Stewart has worn many high heels throughout her career, though she often keeps sneakers on hand to switch from formal to casual footwear on red carpets. Some of her recent heel moments have included the black pumps she wore with a red lace Rhea Costa dress at a special screening of “The Chronology of Water” on Monday, or the blush pink satin sandals she wore to complete a pink Chanel look at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of the film, which is her directorial debut.
