Kate Winslet’s Daughter Mia Threapleton Embraces High Fashion at Cannes

Kate Winslet‘s daughter, Mia Threapleton, made her Cannes Film Festival debut on Sunday and Monday during the annual festival. The 24-year-old stars alongside Benicio del Toro, Michael Cera and Scarlett Johansson in Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme.”

For the film’s premiere on Sunday, Threapleton wore a custom emerald gown with a gilded leaf embroidery courtesy of Oscar de la Renta. The ornately designed dress, crafted at the fashion label’s atelier, featured hand-draped silk faille and its golden leaf.

The strapless dress featured a voluminous skirt and cinched waist for added definition. Threapleton accessorized the gown with jewelry courtesy of Chopard and shoes by Jimmy Choo. “The Phoenician Scheme” actress wore her hair down with a side part and her makeup featured subtle elements.

Following the premiere, Threapleton joined Anderson and some of the cast from “The Phoenician Scheme” for the film’s photo call. Threapleton forwent her feminine look at the premiere for an edgy, structural aesthetic for the occasion.

The actress wore a black midi look courtesy of McQueen. The ensemble featured a strapless, sculpted black corset top with an exposed zipper. Threapleton’s sinuous corset top was paired with a black pencil skirt. She also styled peep-toe black heels to coordinate with her attire. Her hair was pulled back into a tight chignon with minimal jewelry and makeup as the final touches.

During her stint at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Threapleton worked with hair stylist Ben Skervin, while her makeup was done by artist Lisa Eldridge. The actress’ Cannes looks were curated by stylist Farrah O’Connor, who’s also collaborated with Ambika Mod and “Bridgerton” actress Hannah Dodd, among others.

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival concludes on Saturday. Films premiering at this year’s festival include Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme,” Julia Ducournau’s “Alpha” and Lynne Ramsay’s “Die, My Love.” Halle Berry and Jeremy Strong, among others, serve on the 2025 jury alongside jury president Juliette Binoche.
