The British royal family received French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at Windsor Castle in England on Tuesday, marking the first state visit by France in 17 years. Kate Middleton, Queen Camilla and Brigitte Macron wore coordinated footwear to complement their stately outfits, all opting for classic beige pumps on the first day of the three-day visit.

When it came down to picking out shoes to complement her Dior look, Middleton stayed true to one of her favorite footwear designers: Gianvito Rossi. She modeled one of her trusty looks from the luxury Italian brand, the eponymous Gianvito pump in a neutral suede color called Praline, a subdued hue which blended with the blush color of her tulle skirt and blazer. The traditional silhouette makes a statement with a pointed-toe and stiletto heel, with Middleton opting for the modest 85mm iteration of the shoe. The soft suede aesthetic is a preferred look among royal family members — Middleton recently wore a pair of beige suede shoes from the brand to accent a cream-colored Self-Portrait ensemble during the Order of the Garter service in June.

Brigitte Macron opted for a very similar footwear aesthetic to Middleton’s, donning a pair of light beige pointed-toe pumps with a slender stiletto heel. However, her shoes differed in material, as they featured leather with a subtle shine, as opposed to suede. The shoes accented a white high-neck midi dress.

Meanwhile, the queen consort adhered to a footwear aesthetic she repeatedly displayed: a cap-toe pump. While she has opted for the signature black and beige Chanel design many times in the past, this time she brought out her Eliot Zed shoes again, which showcase a monochrome beige version of the cap-toe look with a leather toe contrasting a suede upper.

The pumps were boosted by a kitten heel, which featured a prominent tapered silhouette. The rounded almond toe of her shoes also contrasted with the sharp triangular toes of Middleton’s and Macron’s footwear. Despite differing silhouettes, the unifying theme remained the versatile beige colorway, which complemented Queen Camilla’s green Anna Valentine dress, Middleton’s blush look and Macron’s white dress. The queen consort was modeling the same dress-and-shoes combo she showcased on Day Two of the Royal Ascot in June.
