Kate Hudson gave autumnal dressing the red carpet treatment in a look by Roksanda for the premiere of her new film “Song Sung Blue” at AFI Fest in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The Oscar-nominated “Almost Famous” star’s look, from the spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection, featured silk in a shade of pumpkin orange. The maxidress was designed with a playful approach to fabric placement, featuring an elongated silhouette and a slight formfitting cut.

At the neckline, slight fabric draping created a subtle ruffle effect, following through to the low back of the dress. The silky material was slightly cinched to one side of the waist, and a flowing train was designed for added movement and playfulness.
Hudson went minimalist with her accessories, opting for a pair of statement gold earrings and a cocktail ring. Her hair was styled with the viral side part in cascading waves by Marcus Francis, with makeup by Debra Ferullo. Brittney Boyce provided the tech work on Hudson’s nails. The actress’ look was curated by stylist Sophie Lopez, who also collaborates with “Yellowjackets” alum Ella Purnell, among others.

Hudson’s silky Roksanda dress made its runway debut during London Fashion Week in September. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of founder Roksanda Ilincic’s namesake brand, the collection was full of “spare dresses with big bell sleeves that launched a host of knockoffs; the long, silky shirtdresses, and the draped eveningwear in sour candy colors,” Samantha Conti wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“The collection was a busy one, with lots of long, swinging fringes and straps dangling from jackets and dresses, and spiky tufts of colorful raffia sprouting from necks and hemlines. A pencil-thin black dress had a ruff-like raffia detail at the neck and on the skirt, while wide-shoulder jackets and trenches came with long, thick fringe that swooshed around models’ legs as they walked,” Conti wrote of collection highlights.

Ilincic’s brand went through a business transition in 2024, with The Brand Group, T.B.G., acquring the fashion label, though retaining Ilincic as creative director.
“Song Sung Blue” follows a Milwaukee husband-and-wife Neil Diamond tribute act, played by Hugh Jackman and Hudson respectively, through their successful and heartbreaking musical journey. The film hits theaters Dec. 25.
