Josh Downs start or sit: Week 10 fantasy football advice

The 7-2 Indianapolis Colts look to get back on track in Berlin when they face the 3-5 Atlanta Falcons as 6.5-point favorites. They are coming off their second loss of the season after getting upset in Pittsburgh, while the Falcons played the Patriots close, losing by one point.

The Falcons have been good against the pass this year, but have now given up six passing touchdowns in their last two games along with their first 200+yard games. Overall. they’ve been worse against the run, which of course sets up well for Jonathan Taylor to rebound from a rare down game. But what about Daniel Jones and his receivers for fantasy? We’ll take a quick look.

Below, we’ll go over Josh Downs’ outlook in fantasy football for Week 10.

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts, WR, Josh Downs

Downs has been behind Michael Pittman and Tyler Warren in targets this season, and even with Alec Pierce after his recent surge in usage. Overall, Downs sits at WR40 in PPR leagues and WR46 in standard. His standing has risen of late, as he’s found the end zone in three straight games. Last week he set his season high with 57 yards in garbage time. His upside for fantasy remains low, as he’s mostly working underneath routes, while his lack of big target numbers keeps him from being a safe PPR play.

The Falcons have been eighth-best at allowing wide receiver fantasy points this season, while no wide receiver group has topped 157 total yards against them in a game. This matchup coupled with Downs’ inconsistent targets makes him a sit for me in Berlin.
