Jordan City Boot ‘Flax’ Wheat Release Date HV4580-200

From dad shoes to skate sneakers and even loafer mules, Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand has shown versatility by crossing into nearly every footwear category this year. With a season shift approaching, the Michael Jordan-led label will soon introduce a new addition to its arsenal, this time in the form of a rugged winter boot. And with its wheat-colored upper, metal eyelets and two-tone shoelaces, one of Jordan’s newest winter shoes is drawing comparisons to an iconic workwear boot.

Images of the upcoming Jordan City Boot hit the internet this week and almost immediately, the shoe was compared to Timberland’s Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boots. There are, however, some key differences. The Jordan City Boot is far sportier than the more utilitarian Timberland model, with a sharper toe, blacked-out midsole and the addition of mesh to the upper. Yet with its aforementioned wheat shade (or Flax, in Nike terms), metallic gold hardware and triple-stitched seams, it’s also not hard to see traces of the Timberland boot in the new Jordan look.

While the Jordan City Boot is a new model from the brand, it’s far from the first time that Jordan and Nike have delved into winterized work boot territory. One of the most popular Air Force 1s is a Flax colorway that’s become a yearly staple from the brand. And for Jordan, the brand has notably given its Air Jordan 9 a wheat-colored boot makeover among other similarly colored releases over the years. 

In addition to the wheat style featured here, the Jordan City Boot has also been revealed in an all-black look.

The Jordan City Boot is expected to debut this holiday season. Retail pricing has not been confirmed, but the Flax/Black colorway has a style code of HV4580-200.
