John Fluevog, which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, and comedian Sarah Sherman, a cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” have teamed up to create a whimsical boot that launches on Wednesday.

The John Fluevog Sarah Squirm Boot add extra brightness, color and weirdness to the vintage-inspired Superclog family. A manifestation of Sherman’s alter ego Sarah Squirm, the boot features a clown-inspired multicolored leather patchwork pattern atop a four-inch red wooden heel and platform measuring almost three inches. The launch of the made-in-Brazil boot, priced at $599, is coordinated with the release of “Sarah Squirm: Live + In the Flesh,” Sherman’s first stand-up special which is set to debut on HBO on Friday and stream on HBO Max.

Sherman said in a statement, “These are what my dream shoes look like! Perfect Raggedy Ann in patchwork, and because they’re Fluevogs they’re super comfortable. The kid in me can’t believe it…. I drew a picture from my brain and now they’re mine.”
The collaboration features a charitable element as well — 15 percent of sales will be directed to Trans Lifeline, a grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which offers direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.
Shoe designer John Fluevog, founder of John Fluevog Shoes, said in a statement. “This Sarah Squirm boot gives me shivers of joy as I was selling things not much different than it in 1973.. they are totally my vibe man! Sarah’s a gem… pushing boundaries in fun and interesting ways is something I’ve always enjoyed doing… it’s so exciting to work with Sarah on this project as she has never shied away from her creativity, art and humour.”

Reflecting on how he’s changed as a designer, Fluevog told FN earlier this year, “I never started this business thinking I was a designer. It never occurred to me that I could even design anything. I didn’t grow up in a design family. I’ve had no art background. In fact, I’ve never been to university. Big picture? The company has been a vehicle for me to understand myself and to understand my own creativeness. I say that to encourage others because I think we’re all far more creative than we think or believe. It’s been a big journey for me, and I don’t feel it’s over. In some ways, I’m just starting.”
Additional 2025 John Fluevog collaborators have included Anna Sui and Jack White’s Third Man Records. The brand named a new creative director this year as well, Arabella Barros, who previously served as chief design officer.
