Joe Flacco’s rant about TikTok dances and Gen Z is peak elder millennial

It’s definitely a weird stage in life for Joe Flacco. The 40-year-old quarterback finds himself in a room with two rookies (Shadeur Sanders and Dillion Gabriel), as well as Kenny Pickett. There’s no doubt he’s the odd man out, and while most people might be tempted to try and fit in, Flacco instead went full dad mode at minicamp on Wednesday when it came to his opinion on TikTok dances.

“No TikTok dances. That’s different too, this generation — the fact that people want to get on their phones and show people, like, that’s embarrassing. You’re an adult. Like, be an adult. I can’t wrap my head around that. I get it, like, you have kids and you wanna have fun with your kids. Have fun with your kids in private. That’s what I think. […] I’m not guarded. I don’t think I’m guarded at all. I think honestly, if you talk to me in person, I’ll tell you a lot. I’ll be pretty honest with you. — but on social media? No chance. There’s a piece of me at times that is like ‘Should I be this guy that kinda does this a little bit?’ I feel like in order to have a good social media you do want to be honest, and like show what you do in your life — but eh, that’s a job in itself.”

Flacco simply answered like an elder millennial who doesn’t have any time for Gen Z crap, but it’s more than a little awkward when it came just a few days after Shedeur tried to engage Flacco by asking him about dancing.

It’s kind of harsh to say that doing TikTok dances doesn’t make you an adult, but everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose. We’ll have to wait and see if this ingratiates Flacco to his younger teammates, because dancing has been a big part of minicamp for the Browns so far.

I don’t know if Joe won himself a lot of friends on Wednesday.
