Jill Biden joined prominent Washington D.C. officials and special guests for the 47th annual Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday. The First Lady of the United States joined her husband, President Joe Biden, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff for the special occasion honoring the newest class of inductees.
For the occasion, Biden favored a glimmering white column gown with long sleeves and embellishments. The dress included all-over shimmering sequins, as well as glittering embellishments on the cuffs of the long sleeves and at the rounded neckline.
Biden continued her sparkling sartorial display with her chosen accessories, wearing a pair of statement drop earrings. As for her glam, Biden’s blond hair was styled with a side part and featured slight volume, with a few wisps to frame her face.
A shimmering aesthetic is nothing new for the first lady’s Kennedy Center Honors attire. In 2023, Biden wore a shimmering green dress courtesy of American designer Ralph Lauren. In 2022, the first lady of the United States opted for a gown by Monique Lhuillier.
Prior to her appearance at the 2024 Kennedy Center Honors, Biden was in Paris for the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral. She was joined French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron, along with Jill and Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley.
For the occasion, the first lady bundled up while her daughter opted for a striking coat with several embellishments by Alice + Olivia.
The annual Kennedy Center Honors event recognizes artists who made an impact on American culture and continue to have an immense influence on new generations. The 2024 class of inductees includes filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, singer-songwriter Bonnie Rait, jazz musician Arturo Sandoval, rock band The Grateful Dead and the Apollo Theater.
