Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will kick off on Thursday night with the Miami Dolphins visiting the Buffalo Bills at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
The Dolphins are already on shaky footing at 0-2 to start the season and they fell short in a 33-27 home loss to the Patriots last Sunday. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was a reliable target in the loss and the team will need another solid outing from him if they hope to upset Buffalo on Thursday night.
Below, we’ll go over Waddle’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 3.
Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle
Waddle hauled in five of six touchdowns for 68 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Patriots last Sunday, finishing as a top-15 fantasy wideout for Week 2. So far, the fifth-year veteran receiver has been Mr. Reliable for Tua Tagovailoa as his 81.82% catch rate is the third-highest among receivers with at least nine receptions, trailing only Puka Nacua and Stefon Diggs in that category. Fantasy managers tabbed him as a solid Flex option in PPR leagues heading into the season and so far, he’s been delivering.
Start or sit in Week 3 PPR leagues?
Sit. Starting skill players in Thursday nighters can be a risky proposition and that’s the especially the case for Waddle in this one. It’s a small sample size, but the Bills’ defense has held opposing quarterbacks to just a 58.5% completion percentage with a league-low 292 passing yards through two games. That can be attributed to them getting immense pressure up front and the aforementioned Tagovailoa may not have enough time to properly get the ball to Waddle in this one. Between this and Waddle him being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, I’d advise to look elsewhere for Flex options this week and avoid the Dolphins wideout.
