It’s been a battle between the Commanders and Cowboys, and it just got much more difficult for Washington. Jayden Daniels left in the third quarter with a leg injury he sustained on an awkward strip sack.
Daniels first limped off the field to be examined by the medical staff, then later left the field and went to the locker room for further observation. It was promising to see Daniels leave the field under his own power, but it was a very awkward sack that led to Daniels’ knee getting stretched as part of the tackle.
It’s been a brutal NFC East matchup on Sunday with the Cowboys up 27-15 at the time of the injury. Now the Commanders will turn to Marcus Mariota once again, after starting two games in September while Daniels was dealing with injuries.
This could be a pivotal moment for the Commanders’ season. Hopefully Daniels is able to return soon.
