Isiah Pacheco start or sit: Week 3 fantasy football advice

The Kansas City Chiefs have started the season 0-2 for the first time since Alex Smith was the starting quarterback. It hasn’t looked great, as the offense can’t get going. The loss of Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice are a big part of that along with facing two tough defenses in the Eagles and Chargers. This week they get a much easier defense when they face the Giants ad 5.5-point road favorites.

The running back situation in Kansas City is a mess for fantasy right now, as Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are splitting work and neither has been able to move the ball with any consistency. Their current rushing leader is Patrick Mahomes by a decent margin.

Below, we’ll go over Isiah Pacheco’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 3.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs, RB, Isiah Pacheco

There is good news here for Pacheco, as he is still the lead back and he’s getting passing down work, whereas he wasn’t last season with Samaje Perine getting those looks. Kareem Hunt is annoyingly seeing short yardage work, but Pacheco is also involved. The touches so far are about equal between the two, but the positive fantasy snaps favor Pacheco.

This week they go from facing two tough run defenses to a Giants defense that just gave up a big game to the Cowboys Javonte Williams, who rushed 18 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 1 they gave up 82 yards rushing and a touchdown on just 10 attempts to Jacory Croskey-Merritt. So far they have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

Start. We can’t hang our hat on anything Pacheco has done this season, but he still has the lead role and gets a great matchup. If he can’t do anything in this game, he’s going to have to head to fantasy benches.
