Isiah Pacheco start or sit: Week 17 fantasy football advice

Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will kick off with a Christmas triple-header today and the third matchup will feature the Denver Broncos visiting the Kansas City Chiefs at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

The Chiefs’ lost season was made even worse in Sunday’s 26-9 loss to the Titans as backup quarterback Gardner Minshew suffered a season-ending knee injury, forcing practice squader Chris Oladokun into action. Running back Isiah Pacheco got plenty of touches as a result and the offense may very well run through him in these last two weeks.

Below, we’ll go over Pacheco’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco

Pacheco had a heavy presence in Sunday’s loss to the Titans, taking eight carries for 34 rushing yards on the ground while grabbing six of seven targets for 41 receiving yards through the air. The Chiefs had to quickly alter their approach once Minshew went down with his knee injury and it wasn’t a shock to see them simply lean on the starting running back for the rest of the contest.

Pacheco was notably on the field for 73% of the offensive snaps, marking just the second time this season where he’s crossed the 70% threshold. I expect him to get a similar workload in these last two weeks as the Chiefs play out the string.

Start. The Chiefs will most likely keep things simple with Oladokun in at QB and that bodes well for Pacheco managers. The running back should get enough touches to warrant a Flex spot, so I’d stick him into my lineup if I had him on the roster.
