Inertial Labs Unveils GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation System INS-DM-FI with Tactical-Grade Fiber Optic Gyroscope – sUAS News

Inertial Labs introduces its latest GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation System (INS), the INS-DM-FI, designed
using cutting-edge tactical-grade Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology. This next-generation INS is
built to meet the demands of land, marine, and aerial platforms, providing unmatched accuracy and
durability. Leveraging over 20 years of experience developing high-performance navigation solutions,
the INS-DM-FI represents a significant leap forward in inertial navigation systems.

The INS-DM-FI is an IP68-rated, super ruggedized system designed for the most challenging
environments. It is shielded from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and fully integrates multiple
capabilities, including INS, Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), Motion Reference Unit
(MRU), and FOG IMU-based technology. The system also offers an optional embedded Air Data
Computer (ADC), delivering top-tier performance in determining any mounted platform’s position,
velocity, and orientation.

Horizontal and vertical displacements and absolute orientation (Heading, Pitch, and Roll) are
determined with superior precision whether the device is in motion or static. The INS-DM-FI provides
reliable results for various dynamic and motionless applications, making it a versatile tool for users
across multiple industries.

The system has an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) incorporating Tactical-grade Fiber Optic Gyroscopes
and MEMS accelerometers. Furthermore, the INS-DM-FI supports embedded multi-constellation GNSS
receivers, including NovAtel OEM7, u-blox F9, and Septentrio mosaic-H series, which are capable of
processing GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, and BEIDOU signals. It also features advanced anti-jamming
and spoofing mitigation for enhanced security and precision.

The INS-DM-FI includes an optional embedded Air Data Computer (ADC) supported by two barometers
and is designed to support external systems such as the Stand-Alone Magnetic Compass (SAMC).
Additionally, the system integrates the latest sensor fusion filter, state-of-the-art navigation algorithms,
and comprehensive calibration software to ensure optimal performance.
Inertial Labs’ is dedicated to advancing navigation technology, offering exceptional accuracy and
resilience in the most demanding conditions.

“The INS-DM-FI is built for precision and toughness. It performs exceptionally well across different
environments—on land, in the air, or at sea. With advanced Fiber Optic Gyro technology and robust
integration capabilities, it’s a system that provides reliable, accurate data, even in the most demanding
conditions. It’s about giving users confidence that their equipment will deliver when it matters most.” —
Jamie Marraccini, CEO of Inertial Labs.
