Hyperice, Nike ACG Make Custom Recovery Boots for Winter Olympics

To aid athletes at the Winter Olympics, Hyperice has partnered with Nike ACG to customize its recovery boots for the first time.

Nike athletes at this year’s winter games will be given bright orange Normatec Elite compression boots with ACG branding. The limited production run won’t be available to the public and will also feature in Nike activation houses across Italy. Hyperice has never deviated from its stock materials before, and the Steph Smith, the company’s vice president of marketing, says this may just be the beginning of customizing its boots for different occasions, brands or athletes.

“We felt that this was a great opportunity to position the product that is very endurance-heavy,” Smith told Footwear News. It’s very much for the outdoors, for those in extreme conditions and terrain. It made total sense to partner with ACG on it around the Olympics, and I think it’ll be a great benefit for athletes while they’re on traveling and throughout the full duration.”

The move also comes soon after Nike ACG announced a relaunch focused on performance. Its Therma-Fit Air Milano jacket, which uses adjustable air baffles to regulate warmth, will make its debut in Milan.

Nike is offering a wider suite of recovery tools to this year’s Olympic athletes including its Mind 001 slip-on, which uses pressure points to induce feelings of calm and focus. Also in the mix is its Hyperboot made in collaboration with Hyperice, which can be worn on the move while applying pressure and heat to the foot and ankle.

Hyperice and Nike first revealed their Hyperboot and a vest with both heating and cooling functions in 2024. Athletes at the Paris Olympics had access to the tools before the boots went on sale in 2025.

“Working with a brand like Nike that obviously is the global leader in sportswear and apparel — not only for the elite, but for the masses — has helped us kind of extend and bridge the gap as well with some of the more everyday athletes,” Smith said.

With the Olympics just one of many major sporting events in 2026, Hyperice will also activate around the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star, World Cup and the World Major Marathons.

“We want to be the staple [brand] that everyone goes to,” Smith said. “It doesn’t matter what sport you play or what activity you’re into — this is the product and the system of things you need to essentially move better, whether that’s during your warm-up or recovery process.”
