It’s a happy day whenever everyone’s favorite shapewear brand — we’re talking about Skims here! — drops a new collection, and let’s just say Kim Kardashian has kept us on our toes regarding fresh releases.

This year alone, we’ve already witnessed a Valentine’s Day launch (vinyl lingerie for the win!), new spring offerings for transitional dressing, a major refresher of Skims’s Cotton Fleece collection, and a much-talked-about winter sale. Clearly, there’s never a dull moment in the Skims world of curve-hugging creations, and today is case in point. The brand just unveiled its The Modern Edit: chock-full of slouchier yet somehow also dressier silhouettes that we’re running to grab before everything sells out.

Clocking in at only 15 pieces, this latest-and-greatest curation from Skims is punctuated by the Skims Cloud material — one of its most recent fabric innovations and the softest yet. We’re also seeing a kind of duality in the clothing selects. On one hand, there are the classic body-hugging profiles Skims is lauded for (in the form of the Skims Cloud Foldover Pant, for instance, and Outdoor Open Back Bodysuit); on the other hand, there appears to be more draping present (perhaps best demonstrated by the Skims Cloud Long Sleeve Turtleneck, perfect for transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring).

Those who haven’t in the past been satisfied with Skims’s loungewear styles — which can’t all accommodate an elevated evening situation — will be overjoyed by the arrival of the Skims Cloud Halter Long Dress, Outdoor Heavy Jersey Halter Top, and Skims Cloud Asymmetric Long Sleeve Top. The dress is sensual and minimalist, with three on-trend colorway options that include the Pantone Color of the Year–adjacent Amethyst. Its open back (a trend we’ve already seen grace awards show red carpets in 2025) and spaghetti straps make it contemporary to the core and ideal for a date night or girls get-together. With Valentine’s Day coming up, we see no better option for a little self-treat.

The Outdoor Heavy Jersey Halter Top, on the other hand, is a more frivolous-and-fun item — with a deep V-neck and open back that will make it your go-to once temperatures start warming up. We’re personally obsessed with its Indigo hue, which pops in conjunction with Skims’s 100-percent cotton heavy jersey fabric. And, as for the asymmetrical long-sleeved top offering from The Modern Edit, its side ruching reminds us of the Cotton Jersey Heart Tank that Skims released in time for Cupid Day (and which has since then sold out, to no surprise). That being said, consider this your second chance to snag a minimalist-chic top from Skims that will accentuate all your best features while feeling like butter on your skin.

Given the fact that the brand’s instant hit of a collaboration with The North Face depleted its inventory mere minutes after launch and that a similarly fervent attitude accompanied the opening of Skims’ flagship store on Fifth Avenue, we can only expect that The Modern Edit is going to generate even more hype than it is seeing right now — to the tune of many “Out of Stock” notifications, alas. This should be a sign to drop everything and shop the modern, style-savvy picks right now, which will make the perfect excuse for slowly but surely crawling out of your hibernation and getting ready for spring.
