In 2002, Berry wore what is now considered one of the most famous Oscar dresses of all time. The night she became the first African American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, Berry wore an ornate gown courtesy of Elie Saab. The dress featured a deep-red skirt with a mesh and intricately embroidered bodice.
2006
At the 2006 premiere of her film “X-Men 3: The Last Stand,” Berry wore a gray gown by Reem Acra with a shimmering bodice with a plunging neckline, featuring delicate beading throughout. The skirt of the dress featured a flowing fabric with soft pleating.
2011
For the 2011 Oscars, Berry wore a strapless Marchesa gown with gathered fabric on the skirt and a flowing train. The dress featured a fitted silhouette, with a bevy of beading throughout the gown.
2017
In 2017, Berry attended the 2017 Oscars wearing a gown by Atelier Versace. The dress featured a metallic edge with a flowing train and contrasting black and silver colorways. The bodice of the sleeveless dress also featured an asymmetrical neckline with one strap.
2020
In 2020, Berry attended the AFI Fest screening of her directorial debut “Bruised.” The actress suited up and wore a metallic silver and black look courtesy of Pamella Roland. Sheer paneling was also featured as part of the ensemble.
2024
Berry attended the Los Angeles premiere of her 2024 film “The Union,” costarring Mark Wahlberg, on Aug. 12, wearing a look with plenty of sheer elements and a bevy of lace detailing. The actress’ La Perla look featured sheer long sleeves and a see-through skirt with black lace detailing.
