Havaianas Drops Collection with New Ambassador Vini Jr.

Havaianas has welcomed a new global brand ambassador to the team, Brazilian soccer star Vini Jr., and dropped a collection in partnership with the athlete on Monday. The new global initiative in collaboration with the Real Madrid forward is all about centering Brazilian Flair.

Vini Jr., short for Vinícius Júnior, was born and raised in São Gonçalo, a city in the region of Rio de Janeiro. The 25-year-old plays for the Brazilian national team as well as Real Madrid. The athlete’s connection to the Brazilian flip-flop brand traces back to his childhood, when he participated in the popular trend among Brazilian children of using Havaianas as goalposts while playing street soccer.

Vini Jr.’s collection with the Alpargatas-owned brand features two exclusive styles influenced by the moments and passions which have molded his story. One style mirrors his passion for video games, capturing the energy and playfulness of the activity in two colorways. The other is inspired by his journey of growing up as a young boy in São Gonçalo, dreaming big and going on to achieve the success he has today.

In celebration of Vini Jr.’s roots, the collection launched first exclusively in São Gonçalo from Wednesday to Friday in honor of where his story started. And on this coming Wednesday, the brand is hosting a special celebration in the athlete’s hometown, honoring both his journey and community while emphasizing the link between culture and fashion.
