Halsey’s Black Lace Look Is Pure Gothic Glam

Halsey tapped into her signature gothic glam style for the Los Angeles premiere of “Our Hero, Balthazar,” hitting the red carpet at an AMC in Glendale wearing a black lace dress from New York-based label Sea.

The “Walls Could Talk” singer’s polyester seersucker midi dress featured a plunging neckline trimmed with delicate scalloped lace, infusing the silhouette with a subtle lingerie-inspired feel. The lace detailing continued beneath the bust, revealing a hint of the musician’s skin. Cap sleeves added structure at the shoulders, creating contrast against the fluid silhouette. From the waist down, the dress fell into a relaxed skirt that grazed Halsey’s calves. Sea isn’t the only label leaning into the romantic yet edgy design — brands like Zadig & Voltaire, A.L.C. and Rumored currently offer black lace dresses, too.

Halsey kept the red carpet look cohesive, pairing the flowy number with black suede pointed-toe pumps. Letting the lace neckline take center stage, she forewent a necklace and instead accessorized with minimal silver drop earrings and a luxe black beaded bracelet. A bright red lip added a pop of color to the all-black ensemble, while her hallmark pixie mirrored the look’s gothic glam edge.

The singer attended the event in support of fiancé Avan Jogia, who stars as Supes in the comedy-drama film, released on March 27. Jogia – who recently made a splash in “56 Days” — wore a double-breasted gray suit styled over a graphic tee, finished with black dress shoes.

Directed by Oscar Boyson, “Our Hero, Balthazar,” follows a wealthy New York City teenager who posts about gun violence and becomes involved with a Texas teen threatening a school shooting, believing he can prevent an act of extreme violence. Other cast members, including Noah Centineo, Pippa Knowles, Asa Butterfield and Jaeden Martell, also made an appearance at the premiere last night.
