Halsey brought fetish inspiration to the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of “Babygirl” on Wednesday. The new film stars Nicole Kidman as a middle-aged CEO who strikes up a steamy affair with a much younger intern.
Fittingly, Halsey sported a “baby” pink latex minidress, pairing it with black opera-length gloves in the same fetish fabric. Chunky chain bracelets with padlock charms, ball hoop earrings, white knee-high socks and patent leather pumps topped off her look.
Stylist Lyn Alyson, who also counts Noah Cyrus and Avril Lavigne as clients, dressed Halsey for the occasion. The singer sported her black hair in a sleek crop with finger waves, while her makeup included pink eye shadow, winged liner and a glossy coral lip.
Earlier this fall, Halsey channeled David Bowie on the red carpet at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Las Vegas. She modeled an ice blue suit reminiscent of his custom Freddie Burretti look from the 1973 “Life on Mars” music video, directed by legendary photographer Mick Rock.
Halsey’s Stella McCartney ensemble consisted of an oversize blazer and matching pleated trousers, which she paired with a white button-up, a plaid tie and point-toe heels.
Halsey’s recently released fifth studio album, “The Great Impersonator,” fittingly features 1970s-inspired cover art. The decade also played a role in shaping the singer’s new music.
“18-year-old Ashley becomes Halsey in 2014,” she says a trailer for her new album. “What if I debuted in the early 2000s? The ’90s? The ’80s? The ’70s?”
In the music video for her single “Ego,” Halsey seemingly also channels Bowie, wearing a black suit and a spiky red hairstyle that evoked the rock star’s trademark mullet.
