Cue Mariah Carey’s, “It’s tiiiimeeee.”
New York‘s annual holiday hoopla officially kicked off on Wednesday night with the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Party, where Halle Bailey took the stage in between special performances by Reba McEntire and Kristin Chenoweth, Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé and more. To honor the special occasion, Bailey paired a long white gown with snowflake-inspired makeup, comprised of icy eye shadow and silver-hued highlighter.

A pinch of forest green shadow was sprinkled in the corners of Bailey’s lids, melting with the white and charcoal around it. Only her top lashes were coated in mascara; her waterline was accentuated with black eyeliner. For her lips, Bailey boasted a burgundy-brown hue under a clear coat of gloss. The makeup was likely the work of Los Angeles-based artist Christiana Cassell, the talent behind Bailey’s recent looks, including GQ Men of the Year 2025.
Stylist Tinisha Meeks — @sparkyourhair on Instagram — has also been an integral part of the “Do It” singer’s glam squad, and may have been the visionary behind her hair at the tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday night. Here, Bailey’s wavy braids trailed away from her face before coming together in a low ponytail in the back of her head. Coiled curls snaked down her back behind her puffy white shawl.

Bailey hasn’t been one to veer from her signature braids. She has, however, played with the composition of the ends, pulling them into a twisted or wild bun on the crown of her head, or a half-up, half-down style. Her makeup, on the other hand, is always changing, switching between natural, bronzy and full glam aesthetics. WWD has contacted Cassell and Meeks to confirm they worked with Bailey on her Wednesday night beauty.

Elsewhere on the Rockefeller Center stage, Gwen Stefani tapped into the holiday spirit with a bold red lip and frosty pink blush placed generously on the highpoints of her cheeks. Her lashes were exaggerated with full clusters, while her lids were stamped with a shimmery rose shade.
Not too far from the tree, citygoers gleefully immersed themselves in the sweet scent of the holiday season through Nest New York’s Fifth Avenue activation. From 47th to 59th streets in Manhattan, rows of illuminated trees diffused the fragrance brand’s seasonal scent, which combines notes of vanilla, amber, pomegranate, mandarin orange, cloves, cinnamon, and, of course, pine.
