Gwen Walz joined her husband, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, onstage during the final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Thursday in Chicago. The Democratic vice president nominee and his wife stood by Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and the party’s presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, for the evening’s celebrations at United Center.
For the celebratory moment, Gwen opted for a shade of navy blue in a midi dress courtesy of Carolina Herrera. The look featured long sleeves and included delicate, feminine bow accents on the bodice of the dress.
The bodice of the dress was also fitted and the skirt flared into a flowing silhouette. Gwen’s attire was color-coordinated with that of her husband, Harris and Emhoff.
Both Emhoff and Tim Walz wore ties in a shade of blue. Harris opted for a custom navy suit courtesy of French fashion brand Chloé. The look included a grain de poudre wool blazer with matching trousers and a crepe de chine lavaliere blouse that featured tonal pinstripes.
Throughout the DNC, which began on Monday, Gwen demonstrated her proclivity for classic feminine fashion and silhouettes. On the first night of the DNC, she opted for another look by Carolina Herrera, wearing a midi dress with a blossoming floral design on the bodice and skirt.
On Wednesday night, Gwen chose for another blue look, a nod to the Democratic party’s color, wearing a a Badgley Mischka crepe coat dress with a notched lapel collar, fitted bodice and V neckline. The dress also included pleats along the waistline and flared skirt.
Wearing blue has a been a true sartorial message for prominent figures during the 2024 DNC. Throughout her campaign, Harris has worn several pantsuits in variations of blue. Gwen’s latest sartorial statement on the final night of the DNC can best be described as a show of unity for the party and the party’s nominees for president and vice president.
