Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno used the red carpet as his runway Saturday night at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, debuting his second eveningwear collection at the fundraiser attended by Kim Kardashian, Troye Sivan, Andrew Garfield, Chloƫ Sevigny and Anna Wintour, among others, with a performance by Charli XCX.
Featuring 12 looks for women and four for men, the Gucci Notte collection was designed with Hollywood in mind, honoring the long-standing partnership the fashion house has had with the industry, including 13 years of Gucci sponsoring the gala celebrating art and film.
The collection debuted on a cast of models including Vittoria Ceretti, Mona Tougaard, Loli Bahia, ClĆ©ment Chabernaud and George Barnett at this yearās event honoring director Baz Luhrmann and artist Simone Leigh, which raised funds for the Los Angeles County Museum of Artās expansion project, and for its film programs.
Womenās gowns had leading lady energy featuring architectural, tailored cuts, beaded embroidery, sheer lace insets and feather trim, while menās tuxedos had assertive shoulders and oversized lapels, but with a relaxed slouch.
Jewelry and enamel minaudiĆØres continued De Sarnoās revival of the houseās iconic bamboo motif. Together, the collection spoke to De Sarnoās vision of pushing Gucci in a more wearable direction, capturing a ācasual grandeurā as he referred to it when speaking about the spring 2025 womenās ready-to-wear. For spring, the bamboo motif was also front and center on a new East-West bag, a clutch, a mini bracelet bag and on necklaces, bracelets and collars.
āEach of my collections encapsulates a part of my vision, and Gucci Notte is no exception: a tribute to the architecture of the garment and the quest for beauty that celebrates Gucciās craftsmanship at its finest,ā De Sarno said in a statement. āThese looks pay homage to the timeless allure of Hollywood ā ornate, rich in intricate details, and crafted with the mastery that defines Gucci, embodying an elegance that transcends moments.ā
For this one, he also modeled a look from the collection himself.
