Glamour U.K. Names Kemi Alemoru Head of Editorial Content

LONDONCondé Nast U.K.’s Adelphi building has got to be the busiest place in publishing in London.

In the last week so far, two newcomers have arrived, while one departed.

On Monday, the publisher announced that it has named Kemi Alemoru head of editorial content for Glamour U.K. starting on March 3.

She will be reporting into Glamour’s global editorial director Samantha Barry, who is based in New York.

Alemoru will oversee all editorial and social content for the women’s title.

“In my career I have seen firsthand the transformative power of online media: How it helps people decode the world around them; how good quality and truthful journalism gives readers the words to express how they feel that they couldn’t yet articulate, and even helps create community online and IRL,” she said.

“I can’t wait to continue this while spotlighting incredible homegrown talent, trends and points of view with Glamour platform. I’m honored by this opportunity to explore all facets of British womanhood: the challenges we face but also the passions and optimism that can bring us together.”

Barry added that Alemoru is “full of energy and fresh ideas on how she will take Glamour to the next level, and joins an exciting and extremely talented U.K. team. I’ve no doubt that Kemi will elevate our editorial, campaigns and Glamour U.K. tentpole events, like Women of the Year.”

Alemoru, a sharp cultural writer, has held positions at Gal-dem and Dazed.

She was an adviser to London’s mayor Sadiq Khan on the annual festival Black on the Square.

In July last year, WWD learned that the magazine’s European editorial director Deborah Joseph was stepping down after seven years at the helm.

Last week was a hurrying time for Condé Nast.

The publisher saw a drop in their print circulation figures for the period January to December 2024 as published by the U.K.’s Audit Bureau of Circulation. A problem that Alemoru nor Glamour U.K. will have to worry about.

Natalia Gamero del Castillo, Condé Nast’s managing director for Europe, said digital subscriptions have grown by 64 percent across Condé Nast.

To rectify the losses of the business, Condé Nast named Andrea Latten its chief business officer for the U.K. on Thursday.

She succeeds Luke Robins, who held the role for only six months.

Latten has been with the publisher for 13 years and successfully spearheaded Condé Nast Germany, where she spearheaded year-on-year growth for the publisher and increased revenue for social video by 26 percent last year, which was driven by beauty, fashion and travel content.
