Emma Stone, a five-time Oscar nominee and two-time winner, will return to the award show on Sunday as a presenter. The “La La Land” star scored her first statue in 2017 before taking home her second win in 2024 for “Poor Things.”
Stone, who attended her first Academy Awards in 2012, arguably set red carpet trends at the ceremony, reviving bows, pantsuits and peplum years before they reemerged on the runway. Below, a complete timeline of her Oscars looks — including that viral wardrobe malfunction.

Stone made her Oscars debut in a scarlet Giambattista Valli gown from the label’s spring 2012 couture collection, which drew comparisons to Nicole Kidman’s Balenciaga number at the 2007 ceremony (both had large bows tied at the neck).
Stone, whose film “The Help” was up for four awards, accessorized with a crystallized clutch, as well as a jeweled bracelet and earrings, all by Louis Vuitton.

Stone was a first-time nominee at the 2015 ceremony, where she was up for Best Supporting Actress for “Birdman.” Her custom chartreuse Elie Saab gown featured a backless silhouette, intricate beading and a sultry thigh-high slit. Peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps, Tiffany & Co. jewelry and a 1930s-inspired updo topped off Stone’s look.

In 2017, Stone accepted her first Oscar in a gold Givenchy couture gown. The Best Actress winner, who was recognized for her role in “La La Land,” sported one of creative director Ricardo Tisci’s final designs for the French label.
Stone’s look, covered in beads, sequins and Swarovski crystals, paid homage to the 1920s and evoked flapper fashions with its fringe hemline.
Stone was the first Best Actress winner to wear Givenchy at the Oscars since Audrey Hepburn, who in 1954, won the award for “Roman Holiday” in a floral tea-length shift that was repurposed from one of her costumes in the film.

Stone wore a custom Louis Vuitton look at the 2018 ceremony, where she presented the award for Best Director to Alfonso Cuarón.
Her satin set consisted of a red jacket (belted with a hot pink bow) and cropped navy pants. Matching pumps, drop earrings and rings — all by Vuitton — completed her ensemble.

Stone wore another sparkling look at the 2019 ceremony in a bronze Louis Vuitton design featuring a geometric design. Adorned with sequins, pearls and beads, it took 712 hours to complete.
Custom leather sandals, as well as earrings and a ring by Vuitton, rounded out her look. That year, Stone was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “The Favourite,” her first collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos.

Stone took home her second Oscar in 2024, winning Best Actress for “Poor Things.” She wore a custom strapless gown by Louis Vuitton, embracing the revived peplum trend.
The actress accessorized with matching pumps and a yellow sapphire necklace. Upon the announcement of her win, Stone revealed that her zipper had split onstage.
“My dress is broken; I think it happened during ‘I’m just Ken,’” she joked, referring to Ryan Gosling’s rousing performance of the “Barbie” hit.
