Riley Keough was on her third breakfast of the morning while getting ready for Tuesday’s Chanel show.
The actress had been awake since 3 a.m., and her body clock wasn’t sure if it wanted coffee or green juice. Room service brought both, with a plate of scrambled eggs and sliced fresh fruit.
“I’ve been up for hours. I’m wide awake,” she said. “I’m gonna crash as soon as the show’s over, take a nap.”
The actress missed two flights coming from Los Angeles, and had to transfer in London due to the logistical difficulties. That meant she arrived in Paris the night before the show and did her fitting at about 9 p.m.
Luckily the atelier had set up a rack of looks for her, including one that she had screenshot from the last collection.
“It’s actually really hard, because they always pull multiple things, and I have a lot of great options. Yesterday was such a whirlwind that I just kind of ran in,” she said, and spotted it. In the end that look worked. It was a silk pleated pant, so full it was cosplaying as a skirt, a cropped jacket with silk arms, and an embroidered black vest.
While she has attended several shows, her all-time favorite memory is performing at last season’s show. She was suspended on a swing inside a giant birdcage, singing a tune. This would be her first time at the Grand Palais actually sitting in the seats.
For her beauty look, she went simple with a focus on the skin. She added glitter on the eyes for a wet look, with light on the lip and eye liners. The emphasis was glowing cheeks and luminous skin.
Keough prefers a natural look and said that her biggest skin trick is mostly none at all.
“Through my life I’ve had really crazy skin routines, and recently I just have been using one thing and nothing else, and my skin’s kind of been the best that it’s ever been. Which is bizarre, like I’m doing basically nothing,” she said.
“It’s so funny because I don’t really have great skin, like, I have to work at it,” she said. Oil cleanser has been that holy grail product, she revealed.
For hair, she let it air dry and then refined the curls with an iron.
The actress has been on a break since just before the holidays, having wrapped the upcoming “Rosebush Pruning” with Elle Fanning and Pamela Anderson, plus spending the fall on a promotional tour for the book “From Here to the Great Unknown,” coauthored with her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley.
“Since then, I’ve just been doing nothing,” she joked, counting off the four months of her break. But she’s about to embark on a new film called “Butterfly Jam,” which will be shot in Dunkirk, France.
“It’s probably a very specific experience,” she said of the northern city. “It’s not Paris.”
