Get This Maserati MC20 For A $83,000 Discount

2023 Maserati MC20

Maserati’s gorgeous MC20, the brand’s sole supercar and the successor to the MC12, debuted in 2020. A subsequent convertible version and five model years later and it doesn’t seem as if many buyers have been heading to their local Maserati dealership to buy one. This has resulted in some massive discounts on more than a few examples.

Checking car buying sites Cars.com, Autotrader and Cargurus you’ll find a handful of new Maserati MC20s for sale across the country right now. That’s understandable given the price range the MC20 plays in. Pricing for the MC20 starts at over $243,000 for the coupe; tack on another $30,000+ if you want the MC20 Cielo convertible. You won’t really pay this at the dealer however because many of these things have some steep discounts.

Take this MC20 at a Bishop Maserati in Hurst, Texas. A brand new red on red/black 2023 MC20, the dealer had it listed for $333,195. Two model years and 499 days sitting on a lot made Bishop come to its senses and slash $83,195 off the MC20’s price. It’s still not cheap, but $250,000 is a far cry from over $333,000.

2024 Maserati MC20

Even some 2024 MC20s have huge discounts. This brand new ’24 MC20 is at a Charlotte, North Carolina supercar dealership called Foreign Cars Charlotte. The dealer cut $75,395 off this MC20’s MSRP, leaving its asking price at $250,000. So what’s going on with these big discounts? Low sales could have something to do with it. MC20 sales numbers are hard to come by, but this forum post from July 2024 shows total 2023 production of 1,244 with some assuming the U.S. is the MC20’s largest market.

The MC20’s pricing itself could be another issue, which is ambitious at best. At over $300,000, the MC20’s starting price is serious money both in the amount the brand is asking and the kinds of cars that play in this pricing arena. While the MC20 and its 3.0-liter twin-turbo 621 horsepower V6 are impressive, it’s not as impressive against other cars with better performance that cost the same or less like the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Mercedes-AMG GT63 and Chevrolet Corvette Z06. And against vehicles with that type of performance, even $70,000 and $80,000 discounts may not be enough to sway some into an MC20.
