GeoCue Partners with JGC, Bringing LiDAR Solutions to Balkans

GeoCue, a leading provider of high-accuracy LiDAR mapping hardware and LP360 software, has announced a strategic distribution partnership with JGC Geoinformation System S.A. to bring TrueView LiDAR sensors and LP360 point cloud processing software to Greece, Cyprus, and Balkan countries.

Drone LiDAR Mapping Technology for Regional Expansion

The partnership positions JGC to deliver advanced drone LiDAR mapping capabilities to the rapidly growing Southeastern European market. GeoCue’s TrueView product line includes multiple drone LiDAR systems designed for high-accuracy surveying and engineering workflows. These systems integrate LiDAR sensors with high-resolution cameras to capture comprehensive 3D mapping data during aerial drone flights.

The TrueView drone LiDAR sensors feature engineering-grade accuracy with lightweight designs suitable for commercial UAV platforms. Systems like the TrueView 539 and 540 offer pulse repetition rates up to 500 kHz, capture up to six to eight returns per pulse, and achieve usable ranges of 300-400 meters for targets with greater than 20% reflectivity. These specifications enable effective vegetation penetration and detailed terrain mapping from drone platforms, critical capabilities for surveying, civil engineering, and infrastructure applications.

SLAM Technology and Handheld Mapping Solutions

Beyond drone LiDAR, the partnership brings GeoCue’s TrueView GO handheld mapping system to the region. This SLAM-based solution enables professionals to conduct indoor and outdoor surveys where GPS signals are weak or unavailable. “We were searching for a SLAM solution to enrich our product portfolio, and the strong references we received for TrueView and LP360 from our Trimble distributors gave us confidence,” said Irene Tsalimi, Brand Manager at JGC Geoinformation Systems S.A. “We see tremendous potential in bringing these technologies to our region and look forward to promoting them and offering our customers solutions, like the TrueView GO, that have been missing from our portfolio.”

The TrueView GO combines RTK/PPK positioning with LiDAR and visual SLAM technology, allowing surveyors to capture accurate measurements in challenging environments including underground spaces, dense urban canyons, and building interiors. The system includes three 5-megapixel cameras and a rotating survey-grade LiDAR sensor, providing real-time point cloud visualization through a dedicated tablet application.

LP360 Software for Point Cloud Processing

All TrueView systems integrate with LP360 software, which processes available raw LiDAR data and handheld mapping data to generate georeferenced 3D point clouds in standard LAS format. LP360 provides visualization tools, quality control capabilities, automatic ground classification, and analysis functions for surveyors, architects, and civil engineers. The software enables users to colorize point clouds, perform accuracy assessments, and create deliverables such as digital elevation models and contour maps.

Strategic Distribution Partnership

JGC Geoinformation Systems S.A., founded in 1999, serves more than 7,000 customers across Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans, including government ministries, utilities, construction firms, telecommunications companies, and engineering professionals[press release]. The company’s extensive technical expertise and regional market presence align with GeoCue’s expansion strategy.

“We’re very excited to work with JGC Geoinformation Systems S.A. They have earned tremendous trust in the region and bring a level of technical knowledge and customer commitment that aligns with our values. This partnership will help us reach professionals throughout Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkan countries to provide the high-quality LiDAR tools they need to succeed,” said Samuel Flick, European Sales Manager at GeoCue.
