India’s MS Dhoni-backed drone company aims for global growth with agriculture and defense solutions

Garuda Aerospace Takes a Major Step Toward Global Reach

Chennai-based drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace has received an export license, clearing the way for its entry into the U.S., Australian, and Middle Eastern markets. The company, backed by cricket star MS Dhoni, plans to focus on agricultural and security drone applications in these regions.

“This export license is a monumental step in our journey to becoming a leading global drone exporter,” said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace. “It reflects our unwavering commitment to diversifying revenue streams beyond India and gaining an early-mover advantage in emerging drone markets. We remain fully committed to our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’ for the World.”

Focus on Agriculture and Surveillance Drones

Garuda Aerospace will begin its global expansion with the Garuda Kisan Drone, developed to support precision farming. With agricultural sectors in the U.S. and Australia facing increasing demands for efficiency and sustainability, the Kisan Drone offers a solution tailored for these markets.

In the Middle East, the company will concentrate on providing drones for security and surveillance. These applications align with the region’s high demand for advanced monitoring technologies, and could open new partnerships and government use cases.

This export-focused strategy is also in line with India’s “Make in India” initiative, which promotes domestic manufacturing for international markets. Garuda’s move reinforces the country’s role as a competitive hub for drone innovation and production.

Global Partnerships and Long-Term Vision

Garuda Aerospace is building strong global ties. The company has formed partnerships with international organizations including Elbit Systems, Lockheed Martin, Cognizant, Thales, and SAS Greece. These collaborations are helping Garuda lay the groundwork for a long-term global presence.

With MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador and mentor, Garuda Aerospace continues to gain visibility both in India and abroad. The company’s goal is to operate in at least 50 countries in the near future, pushing forward its mission of technological cooperation and cross-border innovation.

This expansion follows Garuda’s recent entry into Sri Lanka and marks a new chapter in the company’s efforts to become a global drone leader.
