Gap brings a wicked touch of magic to its apparel. The brand introduced a new, limited-edition capsule collection featuring inspiration from the forthcoming film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical “Wicked.”
The 20-piece collection is ideal for longtime and new fans of the musical, which debuted on Broadway in October 2003. 20 years later, the Gap and “Wicked”-inspired collection combines the best elements of the musical just in time for the movie.
Throughout the collection are green, black and pink colorways on apparel ranging from styles for children to adults. The collection is inspired by the film’s leading characters — Elphaba and Glinda — the original Good Witch and Wicked Witch of the West.
Pieces in the collection keep the fall and winter seasons in mind. The kids “Wicked” vintage soft ruffle hoodie features a nod to Glinda in its bubblegum pink hue and Elphaba in bold black, while the “Wicked” vintage soft logo hoodie merges classic design with a touch of magic.
The collection, available on Gap’s official website, also features accessories. Along with hoodies, long-sleeves shirts and vibrant skirts, among others, shoppers can add headbands, socks, hats and more to their cart.
The Gap x “Wicked” capsule collection is available for a limited time only. The retail company recently partnered with Cult Gaia on a women’s and kids’ holiday collection, featuring statement pieces inspired by Cult Gaia’s contemporary and sculptural style.
“Wicked” stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The movie adaptation of the musical follows the origin stories of Glinda, The Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. Grande and Erivo have taken to method dressing while promoting the film. “Wicked” hits theaters Nov. 22.
