Week 9 is gone and that leads us Week 10, which I’ll call the wide receiver bye-ocalypse. Rashee Rice, Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are all resting this week, which is going to cost some of our fake teams a win, but we shall persist.
Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys
Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Chimere Dike, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens
Troy Franklin, Broncos vs. Raiders
Franklin continues to see useful usage as his old college quarterback throws him the ball, but last week his 10 targets only resulted in four receptions for 27 yards. Courtland Sutton only caught one of his six targets, but that one hit for a 30 yard touchdown. Franklin might not be WR1 in Denver, but he’s in consideration for that title week in and week out of late. And playing the Texans in Houston of course didn’t help. This week he gets a much better matchup with the Raiders. Over the last three games he has 28 targets, three touchdowns and two two-point conversions.
Wilson hyperextended his knee in Week 6 and was considered doubtful and didn’t play in Week 7 or 8, and then he got a Week 9 bye, which will give him a good chance to return this week to face the Vikings.
Thomas rolled his ankle in Week 9 and was unable to return to the field. The Jaguars did just trade for Jakobi Meyers, but they also lost Travis Hunter to an injury which will keep him out a month. We’ll need more information on the severity of this injury, but if he can’t go, Parker Washington likely gets a big bump.
Pearsall hurt his knee in Week 4 against the Jaguars, but it seemed like he wasn’t going to miss much time. Unfortunately he’s now missed five games. Reports are starting to get a little more positive on his status, so we’ll see if he can get back on the practice field this week.
Golden suffered a shoulder injury in Week 9, but appears to have avoided a longterm injury. He is considered day-to-day and has an extra day of rest due to their matchup with the Eagles on Monday night,
Ridley suffered a hamstring injury in Week 6 and was unable to play in Week 7, 8 or 9. He has yet to practice, so his status for this week appears to be up in the air again.
Brown is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 8. Reports appear optimistic that he can return after their bye this week when they play the Packers.
