Falcons-Vikings DFS picks: Best plays for Week 2 Sunday Night Football

We’ve made it to Sunday night. I know you’ve all be waiting for it! The Falcons will face the Vikings in Minnesota as 3.5 underdogs in a game with an over/under of 44.5. Last week the Vikings and JJ McCarthy came from behind to beat the Bears, while the Falcons went back and forth against the Buccaneers, but lost at home in the end after Younghoe Koo missed the game tying field goal.

Below we will take a look at the best DFS plays for this Sunday night showdown.

Jordan Mason, RB, Vikings (FLEX $7,000, CPT $10,500)

Mason was the lead back against the Bears and saw 15 carries for 65 yards, while Aaron Jones had eight carries for 23 yards, but found the end zone through the air, catching 3-of-3 targets for 43 yards and the touchdown. Jones getting the touchdown and receptions gives him the better game to be sure, but on FanDuel, Mason has good upside as the lead and goal line back on a run first team.

Michael Penix (FLEX $11,400, CPT $17,100)

Penix played well against the Buccaneers last week, completing 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions, while rushing six times for 21 yards and another touchdown. This week he gets Darnell Mooney back and Drake London will play despite injuring his shoulder last week. Add in Bijan Robinson, who went over 100 yards as a receiver against the Bucs and Kyle Pitts, who had a decent game as well, there will be plenty of good players to get the ball to through the air.

Drake London (FLEX $10,200, CPT $15,300)

Michael Penix loves Drake London, and will continue to pepper him with targets. Last week he targeted him 15 times before he got hurt. He caught eight of those for just 55 yards, but that’s truly an elite workload and he is much cheaper than Justin Jefferson, who only got seven targets last week.

Jalen Nailor, WR, Vikings (FLEX $3,800, CPT $5,700)

Nailor has taken the snaps that Jordan Addison leaves behind due to his suspension. He ran a route on 87.5% of dropbacks, per PFF. But he did only see one target due to McCarthy throwing the ball just 20 times overall. But it is hard to find that kind of route usage from a player so cheap.

Will Reichard (FLEX $6,800 CPT $10,200)

Reichard is pretty expensive fr a kicker, but this Vikings team doesn’t appear to be overly confident in letting McCarthy take over as a passer and will play it more conservatively than fans would hope. That should put Reichard in the mix for long field goals, like the 59 yarder he hit at Soldier Field last week, but this week he’ll be in the dome.

Darnell Mooney (FLEX $8,200, CPT $12,300)

Mooney is back from his shoulder injury and was needed last week, as nobody could really stretch the field for the Falcons. Atlanta is going to have trouble with the Vikings blitzes and defensive line, which will hurt Mooney’s chances, but there will be a few windows there to hit a deep pass or two and Penix is excellent as a deep passer.
