Left hand, right hand. Despite saying this on Tuesday.
Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones. We have not identified anything anomalous and do not assess the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the northeast.
The FAA decided to issue 22, 1nm radius TFRs (Temporary Flight Restrictions) valid until January 17th 2025 on Thursday in New Jersey. That’s just under 70 square nautical miles of airspace.
So if you are in New Jersey, be careful around these spots. You can always have a look at the Altitude Angel Drone Safety Map to see how close you are to them.
