F1 Miami Grand Prix: What is the starting grid for today’s race?

MIAMI, Florida — Days of buildup here at Hard Rock Stadium have led to this: The starting grid for Sunday’s Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

And despite all prognostications coming into the week, once again Max Verstappen will be in P1 when the lights go out later today.

The Red Bull driver, who arrived late to Miami after he and his partner Kelly Piquet celebrated the birth of their daughter, found every tenth he needed in Q3 on Saturday to take pole position ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris. Starting behind the two friends and rivals will be young Mercedes phenom Kimi Antonelli — who qualified third after taking pole position for the F1 Sprint race earlier in the week — and current Drivers’ Championship leader Oscar Piastri.

The Williams duo of Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jr. both qualified in the top ten, and the entire team was ebullient following qualifying on Saturday afternoon. Sainz in particular was pleased with the pace he saw from the FW47, highlighting how in just his sixth race with the team he is just “three-tenths” off pole position.

The mood is rather different at Ferrari, as both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are still trying to find the pace they need to fight at the front.

At the back of the grid Pierre Gasly is set to start from pit lane. Gasly qualified in P18, but the team made suspension changes to his A525 overnight, requiring a start from pit lane.

Here is the starting grid for today’s Miami Grand Prix. For more on today’s race we have you covered with strategy options here, and our full race hub can found here.
