The Formula 1 grid is headed back to South Beach, for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
So is SB Nation.
We were on the ground for last season’s Miami Grand Prix, which saw Lando Norris break through with his first Grand Prix victory. It was a win that put the rest of the grid on notice that McLaren was a force to be reckoned with, and it helped kickstart the team’s run to the Constructors’ Championship.
Now, the grid heads back to South Beach for the first of three stops in the United States this season, with McLaren again atop the Constructors’ Championship standings, and Oscar Piastri leading the way in the Drivers’ Championship race. This is also an F1 Sprint race weekend, meaning after just one hour of practice time on Friday, the lap times will count for real.
