Formula 1 confirmed the six locations for F1 Sprint races next season, with three circuits set to host the format for the first time.
Next year’s F1 Sprint schedule will begin at the Chinese Grand Prix, with Shanghai hosting a F1 Sprint race for the third consecutive year. The second F1 Sprint race of the 2026 season will take place at the Miami Grand Prix, as the circuit around Hard Rock Stadium again sees the F1 Sprint format for the third-straight season.
The F1 Sprint race format will return to the British Grand Prix, as Silverstone hosted the format’s inaugural event back during the 2021 season.
The other three F1 Sprint races in 2026 will all be hosted by circuits new to the format. The Canadian Grand Prix, the Dutch Grand Prix, and the Singapore Grand Prix will all host the format for the first time.
In the announcement Stefano Domenicali, the President and CEO of F1, pointed to the “positive impact and popularity” of the F1 Sprint format, which “provides competitive action on each day of a race weekend.”
“The F1 Sprint has continued to grow in positive impact and popularity since it was introduced in 2021. With four competitive sessions rather than two during a conventional Grand Prix weekend, F1 Sprint events offer
more action each day for our fans, broadcast partners, and for the promoters – driving increased attendance and viewership,” said Domenicali. “We’re also proud to have welcomed Gatorade as an Official Partner of F1 Sprint, demonstrating the huge interest in the event from an iconic global brand.
“The 2026 season will usher in a new era of regulations, so having three new Sprint venues will only add to the drama on track. I want to thank the FIA, all the promoters, our partners, marshals, volunteers, and local
sporting clubs for continuing to make the Sprint a big success and we all look forward to giving our fans more incredible racing and excitement in the 2026 season.”
