 F.I.T. President Dr. Joyce F. Brown Discusses Her 26-Year Legacy

World-renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, or FIT, has turned out some of the biggest names in fashion today (think Calvin Klein and Michael Kors) and the college has certainly shaped the fashion landscape. And being in the heart of New York City, it is also directly impacted by the city’s melting pot of cultures and the prevailing zeitgeist.

In this episode of WWD Voices, Joyce F. Brown, president of the Fashion Institute of Technology, chats with Lauren Parker, director of Fairchild Studio, about her 26-year tenure, which will end when she steps down from her role at the close of the 2024-25 academic school year.

She discusses her proudest accomplishments, and how during her tenure, the college awarded 82,389 degrees and certificates, with the number of bachelor’s degrees climbing by 348 percent.
