Event 38 Unmanned Systems, a leading manufacturer of American-made VTOL fixed-wing drones, is pleased to announce the approval of a drone service provider’s waiver for beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), utilizing the E455 fixed-wing
VTOL on over a hundred miles of pipeline.
In a groundbreaking partnership, Event 38’s E455 fixed-wing VTOL is now approved for BVLOS operations, marking a historic achievement since its debut. Securing a BVLOS waiver with the E455 on the pipeline represents a significant milestone in advancing the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of pipeline inspection and maintenance activities. By utilizing an all-electric fixed-wing VTOL, extended flight times are ensured, maximizing operational flight hours. Moreover, the streamlined design and reduced complexity of the E455 to simplify operations and maintenance, contributing to a more cost-effective
and reliable solution for the drone service provider.
“We are excited to partner on this groundbreaking BVLOS waiver,” said Jeff Taylor, Founder and CEO of Event 38. “The ability to carry Detect and Avoid sensors and meaningful payloads for an extended duration demonstrates the full capability of the E455.”
