Systems to support emergency response, disaster relief, and public safety missions statewide
Event 38 Unmanned Systems has delivered E455 fixed-wing VTOL drone systems and mission payloads to the Florida State Guard (FSG). The delivery supports training, evaluation, and operational readiness for emergency response and public safety missions across Florida.

The Florida State Guard focuses on rapid emergency response during disasters, crises, and public safety events. The organization works alongside the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Highway Patrol, and other partners. Through this collaboration, the FSG plans to deploy the E455 Fixed Wing VTOL Drone to deliver real-time aerial intelligence where it is needed most.
Supporting Emergency and Public Safety Missions
The E455 drone will support several operational needs for the Florida State Guard. These include collecting critical information during emergencies, surveying and mapping areas affected by severe weather, and supporting search and rescue operations. The system will also use Lifeseeker technology from Centum to help locate individuals in distress or in imminent danger during emergency situations.
According to Event 38, the platform is designed to improve situational awareness during complex and time-sensitive missions. The combination of fixed-wing efficiency with vertical takeoff and landing allows operations in areas with limited launch and recovery space.
“We are proud to work with an organization as prestigious as the Florida State Guard,” said Jeff Taylor, CEO and Founder of Event 38 Unmanned Systems. “They are pioneering new capabilities and CONOPs that promise to change the way emergency managers utilize UAS.”
The E455 Platform and Capabilities
Event 38’s E455 is a heavy-lift, long-endurance fixed-wing VTOL drone. The platform is designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, as well as mapping and critical infrastructure inspection. Its extended flight time, secure communications, and ability to carry advanced payloads support a wide range of mission needs.

The E455 can carry systems such as Lifeseeker along with other sensor payloads. These capabilities support the Florida State Guard’s operations across the state, from disaster response to public safety support.
Event 38 designs and manufactures fixed-wing VTOL drones in Richfield, Ohio. The Florida State Guard is a volunteer force that provides emergency response and public safety support across Florida. The organization works in coordination with state agencies during natural disasters, search-and-rescue missions, and crisis response efforts.
