Hair trends are leading the beauty category at the 77th annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, with a handful of stars making their case for bobs, side parts and strawberry-orange coloring ahead of fall. Meanwhile, Gwendoline Christie and Kathy Bates proved pompadours may make a comeback soon, Linga Evangelista style, while Parker Posey offered her own interpretation of the burgeoning grunge revival with a sienna-colored, above-the-shoulders cut.
A “nothing but a bold lip” makeup mentality cut through the parade of hair prowess, with Megan Stalter leading the statement-making style as one of the first attendees to arrive with a rich red lip. Parker Posey joined her “The White Lotus” Season Three castmates at the Emmys in Los Angeles on Sunday night, sporting a sienna hair shade. The 56-year-old actress underwent a major hair transformation earlier this year, opting for a warmer, orange tone instead of her signature dark brown. Outside the Peacock Theater, she sported a chin-length cut, navy blue eyeshadow and a pale pink lip.
Wendie Malick

Wendie Malick stepped out for the star-studded affair in Los Angeles on Sunday night with her trademark muddy blond pixie cut. Here, the 74-year-old actress imagined an effortless style, letting her short layers run wild with no clear part above her forehead. Her makeup consisted of a rosy pink lip shade and black eyeliner.
Meghann Fahy

Meghann Fahy channeled old Hollywood glamour outside the Peacock Theater, bombshell side part and all. The “Sirens” actress, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in the Netflix show, parted her honey-blond hair on the left side of her face next to soft mauve eyeshadow. Only her top lashes were dressed in mascara, while pink blush kissed the tops of her cheekbones. The side part, specifically, is on par with the mod beauty trends, making it big on the New York Fashion Week runways now.
Natasha Rothwell

Natasha Rothwell, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Belinda in “The White Lotus” Season Three, flashed a smile with long lashes and peach-colored blush on the red carpet outside the annual awards ceremony. Meanwhile, skinny braids folded between her drawn-out curls, which wrapped just above her shoulders.
Michelle Monaghan

Styled by celebrity artist Bridget Brager, Michelle Monaghan’s hair was parted down the middle, straightened and tucked behind her ears. In a breakdown of her look sent to WWD, Brager said she added tape-in extensions around Monaghan’s head to enhance the length.
“On damp hair, I worked Moroccanoil Mending Infusion through the mid-lengths and ends, followed by a mist of the Moroccanoil Treatment Mist for added hydration and shine. Then, I raked in a dime-sized amount of Hydrating Styling Cream to lock in smoothness and manageability. To build subtle lift, I applied Volumizing Mist at the crown and sides before blow drying,” Brager explained.
Like the styling of her hair, Monaghan’s makeup was relaxed and made to look natural. Color-colored blush kissed her cheeks, while a muted red painted her lips.

The 46-year-old revived the 18th-century-originated style by slicking the sides of her blond hair back and tilting the top to the right. Besides black winged liner, Christie’s makeup consisted of a rich red lip.

Sharon Horgan led the strawberry-blond hair color trend at the Emmys in Los Angeles. The vibrant tone was mirrored throughout her glam, with peach-toned blush, shadow and lipstick. WWD previously reported that the warm color is poised to be a top trend this fall, according to Jacob Rozenberg, a Redken artistic ambassador.
Megan Stalter
