Emma Stone Looks Flawless in Custom Louis Vuitton at Venice Film Festival 2025

Emma Stone brought a streamlined iteration of the Y2K bubble hem trend in a custom Louis Vuitton dress to the red carpet for the premiere of her forthcoming film “Bugonia” at the 2025 Venice Film Festival on Thursday.

The red carpet occasion prompted Stone’s stylist Petra Flannery, who also works with Zoe Saldaña and Kerry Condon, to dress the two-time Oscar-winning actress in a shimmering design courtesy of the French luxury fashion house.

Stone’s sleeveless dress featured jewel-encrusted thin straps with a square neckline. The bodice of the garment was fitted and featured contrasting silver and white sparkling embroidery in an angular design for juxtaposition.

The high waistline of the dress gave way to a tiered effect with a bubble hemline. Bubble hemlines are seeing a resurgence, thanks in part to the rise of Y2K-inspired street style and trends across fashion. Beneath the tiered bubble hem, the skirt of the dress flowed into a column and grazed the red carpet.

Stone went minimal with her jewelry, save a standout cocktail ring. Her pixie haircut was coiffed with texture and waves and her makeup included bold brows, a lined eye and a soft pink lip for an added pop of color.

The “Poor Things” star has a long-standing relationship with Louis Vuitton. Appointed as an ambassador to the French luxury fashion house in October 2017, Stone recently starred alongside Hoyeon Jung in Louis Vuitton’s fall 2025 campaign, which debuted in July and highlighted the brand’s new handbag: the Express.

“Bugonia” is Stone’s latest collaboration with filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos (“Poor Things,” “Kinds of Kindness”). The film follows two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a high-powered CEO, convinced she’s an alien sent to destroy the planet.

The 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday and concludes on Sept. 6. Highly anticipated films, including Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” “Jay Kelly,” starring George Clooney and Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt,” will premiere.
