New Capabilities Enhance Defense and Commercial Application
AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc. (NYSE: UAVS) has released version 2.1.0 of its eBee VISION application software. This update introduces new mapping tools, enhanced situational awareness, and tactical advantages for defense and commercial users.
Enhancements to Mapping Capabilities
The eBee VISION software now supports circular and grid mapping. These features allow users to generate 2D and 3D maps using external post-processing software. In addition to high-definition, real-time video surveillance, these mapping capabilities provide users with improved geospatial intelligence.
GNSS-Denied Operations
With version 2.1.0, the eBee VISION can operate in environments where Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are unavailable. Users can also manually disable GNSS to counteract jamming or spoofing threats. This ensures continued mission success in contested environments, where other drones that depend on GNSS may struggle.
Interoperability with NATO Standards
The software update includes compliance with STANAG 4609, the standard for motion imagery exchange among NATO nations. This feature embeds drone position and camera data into recorded and live-streamed video, improving compatibility with third-party applications used in military and defense operations.
Silent Tactical Landing Adjustments
A new feature allows users to manually reposition the drone’s landing location on the map. This includes range estimates to inform users of how far the drone can travel before landing. The ability to adjust Silent Tactical Landing (STL) positions provides operational flexibility and improved mission planning.
Ongoing Innovation
AgEagle CEO Bill Irby stated, “Our next generation application software represents a leap forward in innovation and user experience for the eBee VISION. In particular, the new advanced situational awareness and mapping features provides remarkable flexibility and enriched operational efficiency. Even with these upgrades, our technical team continues to refine and evolve the capabilities of our complete enhanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance technology product portfolio to meet the specific and evolving needs of our expanding worldwide defense and commercial customer base.”
