In celebration of eBay’s 30th anniversary, the e-commerce marketplace is opening a retail pop-up in New York’s SoHo and an online storefront curated by Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The ’90s star and fashion icon teamed with eBay to mark how the company has shaped culture and how it’s helped fuel the boom within the secondhand commerce space. The space was curated through Gellar’s lens and inspired by her sartorial taste and stardom from the decade.
“It’s been so fun to see the best of ‘90s culture take center stage again, particularly as it was such a defining period for me personally,” Gellar said. “EBay has always been the place to find iconic pieces — from memorable looks to rare collectibles and more. Curating the ’95 Shop gave me the chance to spotlight items that defined the decade, including a few signed ‘Buffy’ treasures.”
Nodding to the 1995 year of eBay’s inception, the one-day only shop will feature items from the most-searched items from the decades for bidding starting from 95 cents. The shop features 30 of eBay’s “greatest hits” items for the public to shop and purchase. The seven-day online auction will run until Tuesday, with proceeds benefiting Gellar’s chosen foundation, Make-a-Wish.
The shop will feature handbags such as a Christian Dior Lady Cannage Quilt Nylon bag, a Fendi Baguette Floral Embroidered bag and a Prada Nylon Grey East West Bag. Notable archival pieces include a Tom Ford Gucci Faux Sable Coat from his debut collection, a Karl Lagerfeld Chanel Rue Cambon Paris belt, Jean Paul Gaultier Cyber Punk Mad Max Dots top and a Gianni Versace motorcycle leather jacket previously worn by Prince. And timepieces include the Rolex Datejust two-tone Oyster watch, Michael Schmaucher edition of the Omega Speedmaster and an Omega Seamaster watch.

Noteworthy sports pieces are the 1999 U.S. women’s signed Nike Jersey featuring Mia Hamm and more, a 1994-95 Michael Jordan autographed Bulls white jersey, Air Jordan XI Concord sneakers and Air Max 95 SC cool gray/neon yellow sneakers.
In addition to the 30 greatest hits list, eBay has partnered with some of its longstanding and top sellers for purchase instantly: Malena’s Vintage Boutique, a luxury store selling vintage and designer fashion from the 1870s to the 1980s; Linda’s Stuff, which has been the largest seller of fashion apparel and accessories for 25 years; Black Jaded Wolf, a leader in sports collectibles, and Metropolis, which specializes in comics, art and memorabilia.
Moreover, the company also revealed its partnership this week to add What Goes Around Comes Around to its live shopping vertical. Consumers will also be able to see behind the scenes of the luxury handbags and apparel livestreams hosted by Cassie Thrope in the pop-up. EBay is hosting a series of livestreams for people to bid in real time on Wednesday and Thursday alongside the vintage luxury seller and an exclusive drop from streetwear brand Staple’s founder, Jeff Staples.
EBay’s ’95 Shop will open on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., at 45 Grand Street and online at eBay’s website.
