My growing boys eat so much (the mind boggles), so I’m always looking for simple ways to make delicious, crowd-pleasing food. So, when King Arthur Baking, the flour company we’ve loved for many years, sent us a box of their pull-apart garlic bread mix, we were excited to try it…
We’re long-time fans of King Arthur Baking, a certified B Corp company that’s committed to providing quality, responsibly sourced flour. Back in 2020, we made sooo many cookies and zucchini muffins and pancakes with their flour. They also make great breakfast kits, blueberry muffins, gluten-free mixes, and even chocolate lava cakes. The boys and I also love their pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon mixes.
For dinner, we often have pasta, soup, or chicken, so we were excited to try the pull-apart garlic bread, which makes a perfect side. Here are the simple steps: Mix the kit ingredients with butter and water in a large bowl, then knead the dough by hand for two minutes. Afterward, divide and roll the dough into 24 balls (which feels meditative), place them in the pan and let them rise for 15 minutes. Then evenly pour melted butter and garlic seasoning over the dough and let the dough rise for another 15 minutes. Finally, bake for 22-28 minutes.
The end result? A big tray of warm, soft garlic rolls. We wolfed them up, and our neighbors, who came over for dinner, loved them, too. Such an easy, comforting addition to the table, and I’m excited to make these kits a ritual.
Which King Arthur bread mix kit would you make? Their tender flatbread makes excellent homemade pizza, and their focaccia mix is delicious (we put olives in it). Also, their muffins and cookiessssss. You can find all their mixes here, if you’d like.
P.S. “The #1 thing I’d tell new parents about family dinner,” and what’s your house specialty?
