Eagles fans tore down traffic lights, burned Kermit, rode horses after 2025 Super Bowl win

If there’s one thing Philly sports fans are going to do, it’s party hard after one of their teams wins a championship. It happened on Sunday night when the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely clobbered the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2025 Super Bowl.

The Eagles’ defense was dominant, and QB Jalen Hurts forever proved himself by hitting every critical pass throughout the night. Two years after losing to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in heartbreaking fashion, the Eagles are again on top of the league. It’s second time in seven years that Philadelphia has won the Super Bowl after having zero Super Bowl titles before that.

Eagles fans immediately poured into the streets of Philadelphia and celebrated all night. Philadelphia mayor Cherelle Parker pleaded with citizens to stay off light poles and keep the chaos to a minimum in the days leading up to the game, but her message was mostly ignored.

Eagles fans ripped down traffic lights and carried them through the streets of Philadelphia.

Here’s another look at a light pole that had no chance of surviving:

Eagles fans took over multiple garbage trucks downtown, climbing on top of them to celebrate.

Eagles fans used garbage bins to block police from quieting the scene.

Eagles fans slid down parking garages and did backflips.

Philadelphia fans have a history of riding horses through town. Don’t ask me where this horse came from, but somehow it should up at the parade.

This is peak Philly.

Philly fans also had a special message for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has been compared by Kermit the Frog for the way he talks, and fans have latched onto the comparison as the Chiefs have dominated the NFL over the last seven years.

Well, someone brought a Kermit doll to the Eagles’ Super Bowl celebration, and lit it on fire.

There are heartwarming stories from the party scene, too.

This 102-year-old woman who cheers for the Eagles celebrated her team’s big win.

Former St. Joseph’s men’s basketball coach Phil Martelli said he heard of people partying at cemeteries so loved ones who have pass can enjoy the victory.

Here’s another great video from a local news outlet showing Eagles fans celebrating:

Hopefully everyone stayed safe during the celebration. Winning a Super Bowl is such a difficult task that it’s impossible to know if Eagles fans will ever get this opportunity again. I’ve never seen my favorite NFL team win the Super Bowl in my lifetime (go Bears), and who knows if I ever will.

Savor it, Philly. Just stay safe on Friday during the parade.
