Dylan Mulvaney Joins Winter’s Metallic Sandal Trend in Vince Camuto

Dylan Mulvaney backed winter’s metallic gold sandal trend in London on Thursday, centering her “Oh, Mary!” press performance look around Vince Camuto’s Saprenda heel in the Egyptian Gold colorway.

The TikTok star’s sandals featured a squared open toe with a single metallic strap running straight across the toes. The $98 style featured a stiletto heel and a narrow ankle strap with a small buckle at the side. Mulvaney’s red pedicure popped against the subtle sheen of her hardware-free sandals.

She instead saved the embellishment for the dress, choosing an archival Roberto Cavalli style from the brand’s spring 2006 runway. The halter-cut dress combined a pleated red bodice and deep front cutout with a red-to-coral ombré chiffon skirt in layered, high-low panels. Gold lamé bands marked the neckline, waist and hips, each set with a round crystal buckle.

The choice placed the Saprenda within a broader winter run of metallic sandals on red carpets. Earlier in the season, Teyana Taylor wrapped René Caovilla’s Juniper snake-chain sandals around a hooded Balmain gown at Elle’s Women in Hollywood celebration, while Thandiwe Newton wore the brand’s Cleo snake-wrap heels to the “Anaconda” world premiere. Jessica Simpson leaned on her JS Izzella gold platforms at a Glendale appearance for her Mystic Canyon fragrance, and Mikey Madison recently chose mirrored gold Aquazzura cutout pumps for a “Weapons” event in Beverly Hills.

For Vince Camuto, Mulvaney’s outing added another pop culture placement to a brand already woven into the modern American shoe story. The late designer cofounded Nine West in the 1970s before launching Camuto Group, where he helped build labels ranging from Jessica Simpson’s footwear line to Tory Burch’s early shoe business. His namesake brand, introduced in 2005, focused on approachable fashion styles that could land on sales floors at scale, a model that continues through the Saprenda’s under-$100 price point.

“Oh, Mary!” is Cole Escola’s queer dark comedy that reimagines Mary Todd Lincoln as a chaotic, cabaret-obsessed first lady in the weeks before Lincoln’s assassination — a show Mulvaney has championed since its original downtown run and has cited as an inspiration while preparing her own Off-Broadway run of “The Least Problematic Woman in the World.”
