DroneShield Integrates Robin Radar for Layered Drone Airspace Protection

DroneShield has announced a new partnership with Robin Radar Systems to expand its counter-UAS sensor ecosystem. The agreement integrates Robin’s radar technology into DroneShield’s layered airspace security solutions focused on drone detection.

DroneShield sensor ecosystem

DroneShield has built an ecosystem-led approach to counter-UAS rather than a single closed system. The company curates a marketplace of interoperable third-party sensors, including radar, to match diverse operational environments and threat profiles. Operators can select sensing technologies that align with their mission constraints, and adjust as requirements evolve over time.

At the core of this ecosystem is DroneSentry-C2, powered by SensorFusionAI, which ingests data from multiple sensor types. The platform fuses radar, RF and other inputs into a consolidated operational picture that supports faster and more confident responses to drone activity. The system aims to reduce ambiguity for operators confronting complex airspace and small unmanned aircraft threats.

Robin radar for drone detection

Robin Radar Systems specializes in 360°, 3D radar designed to detect and track small airborne objects, including drones. Its radars deliver classification and tracking performance in cluttered and complex environments, supporting wide-area situational awareness. The company positions its systems as fast, adaptive and built for integration into broader security architectures.

“Our technology is designed to deliver seamless performance within broader security architectures,” said Marcel Verdonk, Robin Radar’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re pleased to be partnering with DroneShield to combine our market-leading IRIS 3D radar with their CUAS platform, enabling smarter, layered airspace protection worldwide.”

Layered CUAS airspace protection

By adding Robin Radar Systems to its marketplace, DroneShield expands radar-based options for layered CUAS deployments. Radar can detect and track drones across wide areas and in challenging conditions, supporting persistent coverage. SensorFusionAI then combines these radar feeds with other sensors to translate detections into actionable insights for drone defense operations.

“Operators need systems that adapt to their mission, not the other way around,” said Angus Bean, DroneShield’s Chief Product Officer. The partnership aims to give customers flexibility to design their airspace security architecture while maintaining integrated, AI-enhanced control of drone detection and tracking.
