Dodge Sold 1 New Viper In 2024

Automaker Stellantis didn’t have a great year in 2024, with sales down, calls to offload its brands and even the sudden departure of its CEO. There was one glimmer of hope for the company, though, as it managed to sell a new Dodge Viper in 2024 despite the car going out of production years ago.

According to sales figures shared by the company for 2024, Dodge sold a single Viper sports car in 2024. The Viper was sold alongside all manner of Hornets, Chargers and Challengers that were shipped in 2024, but is an anomaly as the V10 model went out of production way back in 2017.

Dodge reportedly sold the Viper in the first quarter of 2024, after selling two as-new Vipers the previous year. The model sat on a dealer lot for years before being offloaded to its new owner, who I’m sure will be very happy with the spec of their new Viper, as AutoEvolution adds:

The only one sold in 2024 was the SRT version of the third and final generation. The model is set in motion by the massive naturally aspirated 511.5-cubic-inch (8.4-liter) V10 that pumps out 645 horsepower (654 metric horsepower) and 600 pound-feet (813 Newton meters) of torque. A Tremec six-speed manual transmission puts the power down through the rear wheels.

Those make it rocket from 0 to 60 mph in under 4.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 206 mph (332 kph). It sounds like a lot of fun for the new owner of the old Viper, which was never registered before and sports delivery mileage even though it is eight years old.

There’s currently a used, 2016 Dodge Viper SRT-10 listed for sale with more than 11,000 miles on the clock, and that’s commanding a price of over $150,000 online, so, I’d be very curious to hear just how much this “new” one sold for last year, or if there are any other hidden Vipers out there still waiting for their forever homes.

We reached out to Dodge for comment on this, but haven’t yet heard back from the automaker on the state of Viper sales in 2025.

The Viper wasn’t even the only long-dead car that Dodge managed to shift in 2024, as the automaker also sold two Darts and two Caravans after the cars were killed off in 2016 and 2020 respectively.

Dodge ended production of the Viper back in 2017 and subsequently shuttered the Conner Avenue Assembly plant where it was built. The decision was made to kill the car over slowing sales and concerns that it may not meet new safety requirements.
