LOYAL FOLLOWING: Drew Starkey is the latest celebrity to follow Jonathan Anderson to Dior.
The “Outer Banks” star, who previously appeared in Loewe’s spring 2025 campaign, was among those who came out to support Anderson for his Dior debut in June. Now the brand has formally named him as its fourth new men’s ambassador this month, as Anderson gears up for his sophomore menswear show on Wednesday.
The two met on director Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 film “Queer,” in which Starkey appeared alongside Daniel Craig. Anderson was the costume designer for the film, and said he was “immediately drawn” to the American actor.
“Drew brings a quiet intensity that feels raw, elegant and deeply human,” the designer said in a statement shared exclusively with WWD. “There’s a rare honesty in his presence, a beauty in how he allows vulnerability to sit unadorned. I’m thrilled that we will continue to work together in this exciting new capacity.”

Dior said Starkey stands out for his “risk-taking, charisma and integrity.” In addition to the fifth and final season of teen drama “Outer Banks,” he will star next in Adam Wingard’s action thriller “Onslaught” and is also attached to Jeff Nichols’ supernatural horror film “King Snake,” together with Margaret Qualley and Michael Shannon.

Unlike Josh O’Connor, another former Loewe campaign star who has jumped ship to Dior, Starkey has yet to wear Dior on the red carpet.
