DGA Fast-Tracks 1,000 Harmattan AI Micro-Drones for Armée de Terre – sUAS News

Announcement of an order for 1,000 micro drones by the DGA – Direction générale de l’armement from the start-up Harmattan AI to be supplied to the Armée de Terre for the Orion 2026 financial year in particular (i.e. deliveries in 6 months to be made by the end of 2025, less than a year after the launch of the call for tenders)

A recent (2024) and discreet Franco-Swiss start-up, it has made a very big splash here, to be validated in realization. Embodying the “Aerial Defense Drone Pact” DGA/French ecosystem (around the action of the GICAT )

Around former Parrot employees in particular, it is betting on an industrial approach of large-scale production envisaged from the beginning (and with appropriate partners), starting from the civilian (and subsystems as needed) and bringing it, via reinforcement by software layer, to the military level (with a strong anti-drone and radar tropism, to be both attacker and defender). And which directly attack the France, UK, US markets…

“Its micro-drone is designed and assembled in France, using the French company LYNRED for the supply of infrared cameras. Weighing 1.8 kilograms, this drone has a range of 2 kilometers and has a flight autonomy of 40 minutes” (press release)
